Terminating Instances

When you no longer need an instance, you can delete it using the trove delete command. You can delete clusters using the trove cluster-delete command.

The trove delete command deletes the database instance and permanently deletes all data stored on that running instance. Backups of the instance are not impacted and can be used at a later time to launch a new instance.

ubuntu@trove-book:∼$ trove delete m2

ubuntu@trove-book:∼$ trove list

+----+------+-----------+-------------------+--------+-----------+------+

| ID | Name | Datastore | Datastore Version | Status | Flavor ID | Size |

+----+------+-----------+-------------------+--------+-----------+------+

+----+------+-----------+-------------------+--------+-----------+------+

Similarly, the trove cluster-delete command deletes an entire cluster and all instances that form part of the cluster.
